HUD also provides a Capital Fund Grant which is used to improve the condition of the properties and to support management and operations of the program to better serve public housing tenants.

The Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program application is closed. The Wichita Housing Authority Public Housing application is open for persons over the age of 50, disabled head of household, and households with four or more members.

The Wichita Housing Authority (WHA) Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program is designed to help income-eligible families pay their rent to private landlords. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) determines the rules and regulations for the Section 8 Program.
